I didn’t consider him a disaster, but definitely nowhere near what he was paid. The value of two second rounders, or a second and a third, are far greater than that little money off the books.

That’s fair. Also suspect mentoring Lundkvist played a role in his arrival. He got the Marek Malik treatment from fans but not sorry to see his cap dollars used elsewhere.

Friedman said the Rangers were talking to the Blues at th draft. I wonder if it was about Ryan O’Reilly. Hopefully not Tarasenko. He also said they were poking around Miller and Horvat.

He expects a one-year near the 750k minimum.
Vesey had 8 goals and 7 assists in 68 games last season.
In my opinion, this signing should have no effect on the possibillity resigning Motte or signing another depth forward as Vesey will be part of the competition at wing.
Here's what one Devils fan's opinion of how Vesey played last season:
Jimmy Vesey: B+
Vesey did everything the Devils asked him to do this season. He was a solid bottom-six forward who was an above-average penalty killer. The Devils finished in the middle of the pack in penalty kill percentage, but before Vesey got hurt, they ranked 10-12 for most of the season. I’d be fine with it if the Devils decided to resign Vesey to play the same role.

Not true, but my guess his next contract, wherever he signs, will be under the 1.225 million AAV of his last contract.
