if the mets win or lose this season it will not be because of ruben gotay.

the reasons they lost last season had nothing to do with the guys sitting at the end of the bench and everything to do with their front line players.

Yes, but there isn't much they can do about whether or not Pedro is healty or whether or not Delgado wakes up from his coma. If they need to upgrade 1B, OF, or RP, Gotay might be able to help, and is certainly their best insurance in case Castillo/Reyes goes down. No need to cut Gotay loose.

while gotay's bat was good off the bench, he also was horrible in the field. keep that in mind.
